A teacher handed me a rock and it changed everything.

While I was deep in the fog of brainstorming business names, my child’s preschool teacher gave me an inspiration stone with a word carved into it: dream. I looked up the translation in other languages. In Norwegian it’s DRØM. I knew immediately that was it.

The name felt right because it already lived in me. Raised on a former Finnish territory and influenced by childhood travels through Scandinavia, I grew up absorbing a design philosophy built on stripping away the unnecessary to reveal what’s essential. That’s exactly what I try to do with a portrait — or a product.

Before picking up a camera professionally I spent years in finance — a world where how you present yourself carries real weight. I understand what it means to need an image that works as hard as you do. The image that says "this is who I am" before you’ve said a word.

Now I’m based in British Columbia's Sea to Sky corridor, one of the most extraordinary places on earth to live and work. I offer studio and on location headshots and personal branding sessions (when the mountains are this close, they deserve to be a part of your story).

The vintage Kiev camera in my photographs belonged to my grandfather. It doesn’t shoot the sessions, but it’s always close to my heart.

My clients are founders, remote workers, small business owners, and makers who’ve been putting off professional imagery for too long. The sessions are relaxed. The images will do the work of bringing clients to you.
