About DRØM Photo

While I was deep in the fog of brainstorming business names for my local photography business, my child's teacher gave me an inspiration stone with a word "dream" carved into it. I looked up its translation in other languages and loved the Norwegian version of DRØM.

Raised on a former Finnish territory and influenced by childhood travels through Scandinavia, I grew up close to beautiful nature, and simple, minimalist design. That’s exactly what I try to bring out with a portrait — or a product - photography.​

Before focusing on camera work professionally I spent years in finance — a world where how you present yourself carries real weight. Today, more than ever, it is so important to put your face out there, across all industries - emotional connections and interpersonal relationships win in the era of artificial intelligence. 

Since 2019 I’m based in British Columbia's Sea to Sky corridor, one of the most extraordinary places on earth to live and work. I offer studio and on location headshots, solo and business team portraits, and product photography.

My clients are the diverse and creative local community of founders, remote workers, small business owners, and makers - those who update the images regularly, and those who’ve been putting off professional imagery for too long. I pride on the relaxed nature of the sessions. Repeat customers are the best (and great google maps reviews are second best!).

The vintage Kiev film camera in my photographs belonged to my grandfather: it doesn’t shoot any of the sessions, but it’s always an inspiration.
